It’s the 9th of May, the sun is shining, the sky is blue and I’m sitting in the Robert Denholm House grounds thinking through our OK! Fairy Tale advert and Blog to celebrate the Royal Wedding when I see in the hedgerow a deer surrounded by rabbits. I see them often when it’s quiet and it always makes me think of Snow White… This is when it hits me – let’s have some fun & imagine how a Princess could have an RDHwedding!!

An imagination, artistic licence and a giggle are required, however, I hope it inspires you to hold your own magical day with us.

Snow White and Prince Charming (a different Prince Charming to the ones that married Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty – he is not a womaniser!) Created their nuptials with a Celebrant for their outdoor celebration.

The Perfect Location

Snow White is tired of “legalities” as her Step Mother imposed too many laws and regulations for her liking and so a Celebrant led ceremony was much more to their taste. Their celebration was planned for outside but if the weather was poor they could happily relocate indoors, or maybe into their Tipi.

Hired white blossom trees lined the walk-way to the ceremony seating of white lime wash chivari chairs with comfortable natural coloured seat pads. Instead of a carpet, Snow White chose white petals scattered upon the grass creating a rose scented aisle leading up to a beautiful floral arch where her Groom and Celebrant waited to greet her.

The Ceremony involved their nearest and dearest – including their pet dog! It was a joyous occasion that suited their personalities and fulfilled their wishes perfectly.

The natural theme continued throughout the wedding décor and floristry with the colour pallet focusing on white like snow and red complementing her lips.

The grounds offered fantastic photographic locations including the red acer trees, choice of woodlands, manicured lawns as well as the beautiful late-Victorian red-brick mansion providing an elegant backdrop.

Once the Ceremony and photographs were complete, everyone relaxed on the hay bale seating although sadly this did make Sneezy – well sneeze!

Traditional garden games with added welly throwing were played. Bashful took some quiet time in the chill out zone whilst Happy entertained the children with a bouncy castle and football game before they crashed out in the kids Bell Tent.

The Perfect Day!

No one was Grumpy as they had all been well fed and watered. The BBQ and ice cream van were delicious. Their personally designed Bar menu including mocktails for those too small to drink, was a hit.

Bands and DJ’s were listened to as the guests danced the night away – well, until 23:00 when some of the guests moved indoors for a hot chocolate and a chinwag about the proceedings of the day, and others, including Sleepy departed to their local accommodation.

Doc, the leader of the dwarves had worked with the RDHwedding Event Manager, listening to her recommendations, being inspired together and finalising a plan so thorough and easy to understand that even Dopey hadn’t had any issues.

Snow White and Prince Charming’s Wedding day was a great success, creating many fabulous memories and inspiring lots of guests to hold their own parties and events at Robert Denholm House. Thus meaning, they all lived happily ever after…
